Happy 5th Birthday

Happy 5th Birthday

Yesterday my baby turned five... born in a snowstorm in 2006 and got his wish of having his fifth birthday in a snowstorm *grin*. All he really wanted was for it to snow on his birthday :)

Snakey

I wish you could have seen the big ear to ear smile on his face when he pulled out 'snakey' from its wrapping paper :)

Snakey

It was an instant hit as he started stuffing little felted mice into the snake's mouth and working them down the knitted body including munching sound effects...

Snakey

followed by regurgitating noises as they all started to pop back out! It went totally crazy after that as the whoopie cushion was pulled and the snake had some bad indigestion resulting in very loud gas. LOL.

Boys... heehee.

Guarding the Gate

He also got a wooden play castle with a few wooden knights and horses, a king and queen...

Castle Play

and it opens up wide so that it creates a great little play place inside with a dungeon and more :)

Thomas Birthday Cake

We wrapped up our little birthday party with a Thomas the train cake. His favorite :) Now if only I could bottle him up and he would stay 5 forever *grin*. I'm running out of babies!

Thomas the Train

Thomas the Train Painting

My oldest son reminded me today that I had forgotten to put his painting in my handmade christmas entry. Oops!

His little 3 yr old brother is totally into Thomas and I swear the kid looks like he's going to have a heart attack when he sees it come on tv. LOL. He races around frantically yelling out that Thomas is on, sometimes he has to get a Thomas book to hold while watching and this is all going on while the show is playing so he ends up missing part of it during his excitement *grin*.

So K decided that his special present to his brother would be a painting of Thomas the Train :) It was a total hit and I'm hoping he paints something for me next!

A Very Thomas Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated my baby's 3rd birthday. I can't believe how fast the years have gone! On Feb.6th my oldest turned 10 and now my cuddly little baby really isn't a baby anymore either :) We surprised him with a Thomas the Train cake and it was so cute. On top of it was a wind up Thomas that zipped around the track while we sang happy birthday to him. His eyes were just about bugging right out of his head when he saw it. LOL.

My sister and her husband were able to travel up for the day and it was really great to see them. I couldn't believe my luck though when I was right in the middle of preparing dinner and the electricity went out!! Not uncommon here in the winter but inconvenient to say the least. Luckily we have a generator so it saved the day :) Above is a photo of M's new favorite toy, a Melissa & Doug wooden shape puzzle set. It is so cute. Each of the puzzle boards is double sided with colorful paintings and different shapes that need to be added. I just love it when I can find toys that aren't plastic :)
