Let the fall knitting begin!
I'm so excited to join in with Ginny's yarn along again. With all of the chores that needed attention around here in the spring, sadly I had to put away my knitting needles but I've dusted them off and have cast on a little girl's shawl for my daughter :)
I've been dying to try knitting some lace and the Little House Shawl pattern looks like it's going to be just the right size to see if it is going to be difficult. I have to say though that so far this is EASY!! The hardest part was casting on the 395 stitches without loosing count *grin*.
Our homeschool year is in full swing and I think I've finally found a rhythm that works for me and all three of my children as my youngest has joined us for kindergarten this year and I just love his exuberance each morning as he begs to get started :) I'm using Oak Meadow with him and we have been enjoying reading the Waldorf Alphabet by Famke Zonneveld and starting our own alphabet book together. Oh how I love starting kindergarten all over again :)
Can't wait to catch up with all of you again and see what's on your needles this week!
Hugs,
Rosina

Ohh that yarn is absolutely lovely!! Your girl is so lucky =) I hear you on the cast on...that's why I like shawls that start with 3 stitches. And may I say that I just love your blog banner? So cute.
What a fun shawl. I'll follow the link. My eldest has been dropping hints that she wants a shawl. Love the colours you are using. I'm knitting a lacey shawl at the moment. Having problems keeping the stitches from sliding off!
I love the Alphabet book. We are currently using it for my first graders language arts block. So beautiful. Love the lace, have never tried it myself - yet!
Love the yarn and the shawl...I had to go look at the pattern...Like I need another something I want to do. but I think it would be fun to make for my girl and a little one for her doll.
The yarn you're using is gorgeous - so perfect for a little girl's shawl. Can't wait to see it as you progress :)
What beautiful colors!
I hear about so many wonderful children's books through the yarn along! My chilren's reading is so enriched by it! Now I'll be on the lookout for the Alphabet book. :-)
That yarn is beautiful, what is it?
Your daughter is sooo lucky. Think I'll go look at that link now. x
Hi everyone :)
Thanks for all of the lovely comments!
Beck the yarn is by Marks & Kattens Fame Trend and the dye lot number is 656 S3259 :)
What a pretty pattern and the yarn is perfect!
The colors of the shawl are so pretty, I hope to knit lace someday.
We are about to start our homescholing year here too, my son is 5, we are all excited.
Would you recomemnd Oak Meadow for a particular reason?
pretty colors! i want to homeschool ezra so much so we can do the waldorf alphabet together. maybe i should just do it now because he's so into his letters and we've begun an informal introduction to them. he just keeps begging me to go to school one day, so i think we'll have to let him try out kindergarten.
What a beautiful little shawl! My daughters would LOVE the colors of the yarn you chose. :)
Oh, that yarn is so vibrant and lovely - your little girl will feel like a princess in it. (Or a fairy or an adventurer or a super-hero, or whatever the imaginary-adventure-of-the-day calls for.)
it can be so difficult to cast on that many stitches. sometimes i'll use a stitch markers, placing one every 100th stitch. your shawl looks lovely.
:)
I love those colours! Lucky girl :)
Love the yarn, it's going to be so pretty. Oh and I added the shawl to my queue!
Love the colors in that yarn! I haven't read the alphabet book, but I might need to put it on my reserve list for the library.
I'd say you are definitely a lace knitter now!!! Lovely first lace project.
Oh, what a beautiful shawl! I love the colorway.
I love the colors of that yarn! The shawl will be lovely.
I am looking for the right lace pattern to knit up...casting on KILLS me.
Lisa
I love the yarn you chose for your shawl. Beautiful colors! I'm glad you're finding some time to knit again. It's always so good for the soul (or mine at least)!
Love the color of yarn you're using. I wish I could knit better, however sadly knitting dish clothes is my only talent...but I love to see what others make and then dream and drool!
